Today, I write

This is the way. This is my way. This is the way I begin my day – with a journal to myself. As I develop Happy Coddiwomple, I plan to either write directly or cherrypick the “best of” from my daily journal and the creativity that gets launched from it.

Some mornings my pages are filled with self-encouragement. Some days they’re a vent for my frustrations. On the best days, they are a playground for my words to meet up in interesting ways. I don’t fancy myself a poet, but since I’ve started practicing my writing as a creative (instead of a corporate) practice, I’ve found myself writing reams of poetry.

Is my poetry great? Probably not by many measures, but my poetry is personal and meaningful to the correct audience.

Other mornings, my morning pages are a launchpad to other creativity. For instance…

We hope you enjoy my Happy Coddiwomple

I’m no Monet, but I’m learning to paint. I only had very basic art classes, but I’ve found that painting is cathartic for me. Painting allows me to release expressions that words cannot. Same thing with music. Same thing with gardening.

Speaking of gardening, that’s another topic I’ll likely explore more as I develop Happy Coddiwomple. And, if you haven’t figured it out yet, the painting is an above view of my wildflower labyrinth garden. I hope that I can get some good actual photos of it once it comes into bloom again next year.

My hope – my plan – is to use this site to inspire myself to continue my creative journey. If you keep reading: you can expect occasional poems or essays, maybe some painting process pics, travel stories and shared inspiration.

If this vibes with you, follow me on my Happy Coddiwomple.
